Nigerian filmmaker, music video director, movie director, television director and producer, whose works have been aired on MTV Base, BET, Channel O, Soundcity and Netflix, no other person than Kemi Adetiba, has tied the knot with her Ghanaian lover who is a music executive, Oscar Heman-Ackah.

It would be recalled that Kemi Adetiba had shared beautiful moments from her surprise marriage proposal, which occurred in Ghana on 28th January 2022.

The King of Boys filmmaker revealed that her lover, Oscar Heman-Ackah popped up the big question, and she wholeheartedly said yes.

While the entire netizens are still wallowing in the just concluded colourful traditional marriage ceremony of actress Rita Dominic and husband Fidelis Nosike, little did they know that couple of hours ago, that Kemi was tying the knot with her long time lover.

A video of Kemi and Oscar’s private ceremony, which surfaced on social media to the delight of many was well received by friends and fans in the entertainment Industry.

Reputedly, both husband and wife only had a few people over in the warm and intimate wedding ceremony. Kemi was seen holding her man closely as a man of God officiated.

Taking to her Instagram page on Friday to announce the good news, the excited bride shared a picture of herself and Herman-Ackah.

She wrote, “Officially official!”

However, the bride’s brother Remi Adetiba, also took to his Instagram page to share pictures from the court wedding ceremony.

The new couples had their introduction and court wedding in the Ikoyi axis of Lagos State. The event was graced by friends and family members.

He captioned the pictures, “Legally Yours?”

Congratulatory messages flowed in her comment section from Celebrities like Toyin Abraham, Nancy Isime, Adesua Etomi, Broda Shaggi and others.

Adetiba had on February 9, 2022 announced her engagement to the music executive after she disclosed that her husband Oscar Heman-Ackah proposed to her in January at a surprise party while they were away in Ghana.

More About Kemi Adetiba

Kemi started out professionally as a radio presenter with Rhythm 93.7 FM, where she became the voice behind two nationally syndicated hit shows: Soul’d Out and Sunday at the Seaside. She started anonymously posting personal remixes online on various applications such as Spotify and Soundcloud under the username and tag ‘hule’.

Kemi Adetiba began to make a transition from being a voice on radio to being a face on television by producing and presenting several shows on Mnet, which includes Studio 53, Temptation Nigeria which she presented alongside Ikponmwosa Osakioduwa. Kemi was also a presenter on Soundcity TV and hosted Maltina Dance All for three consecutive seasons.

After years of success being in front of the camera, Adetiba enrolled into the New York Film Academy to learn the ropes about being behind the cameras and today, her bodies of work as a director are spread across the African continent and beyond its borders. Kemi Adetiba’s short film Across a Bloodied Ocean was screened at the 2009 Pan African Film Festival and National Black Arts Festival.

On 8 September 2016, Kemi Adetiba’s first feature film The Wedding Party (a Nigerian Rom-com film) premiered opening night, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), as the opening film of the City-to-City Spotlight.

In 2017 she was presenting the show King Women where she interviewed her mother Mayen Adetiba. Other former King Women included Chigul, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, TY Bello and Tara Durotoye
