Actress Niecy Nash marries a woman 6 months after divorcing husband
Actress Niecy Nash has married her long time friend, Jessica Betts just 6 months after divorcing her husband of 8 years.
The actress made the announcement on Monday via her Instagram page, where she captioned a photo of herself and Betts walking hand-in-hand down the aisle.’
“Mrs. Carol Denise Betts 💍 @jessicabettsmusic #LoveWins🌈 📸 @robertector,” Nash, 50,
Within an hour, the post received hundreds of congratulatory messages and thousands of likes. Her fans took to Twitter to express shock at the announcement and excitement for Nash, who divorced her husband Jay Tucker earlier this year after eight years of marriage.
Betts posted the same photo to her Instagram with the caption, “I got a whole Wife.”
Though Betts was a longtime friend of Nash’s, according to previous social posts, many were not aware of their relationship. Betts is a singer and songwriter who has contributed music to the “Get Up” and “Big Momma’s House” soundtrack.
Nash was previously married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and married Jay Tucker in 2011. She and Tucker divorced in December 2019. It is clear, though, that there’s an even bigger coming-out story here: Niecy Nash’s first name is Carol!
In an interview with People in February, Nash spoke about how ending her marriage was difficult due to her family’s beliefs and the “internet’s expectation” of her.
