Buckingham Palace issues statement following Meghan & Harry’s Oprah interview

Buckingham Palace has now released a statement following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Last night (March 8), millions of viewers in the UK tuned in to watch Meghan and Harry open up about their lives and experiences in the Royal Family to Oprah.

During the conversation, it was claimed that a member of the Royal Family – that wasn’t the Queen or Duke Of Edinburgh – raised “concerns” about the potential skin colour of their unborn baby when Meghan was pregnant with Archie.

Now, Buckingham Palace has responded in a statement, saying that issues of racism are “concerning” and “will be addressed”.

A palace spokesman said: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

Since the interview first aired in the States on Sunday, the Palace has faced pressure from the public to respond to the allegations of racism, as well as the claims that they denied providing Meghan with support when she was struggling with her mental health.
