2 Women Banned From Vaccine Centre After Dressing Up As ‘GRANNIES’ To Get COVID-19 Jab

Two young women have been banned from a coronavirus vaccine centre after dressing up in ‘granny’ disguises to receive the jab.

The two Florida women, aged 34 and 44, were turned away from the centre in Orlando after being caught by state officials.

According to WFTV, the women – who were dressed up in fake glasses, gloves and bonnets – had valid vaccine cards after having their first doses but its unclear where.

The pair changed their date of births on their coronavirus vaccine registrations in a bid to trick the state’s system which is prioritising over 65’s. On their second attempt however, they had issues with their driver’s licenses.

They were then issued trespass warnings by deputies after their birth years “did not match those they had used to register for the vaccines,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “The names, however, did match the registration.”

No further law enforcement was taken but the trespass warnings mean they can be prosecuted if they return to the vaccination centre in Orlando – even for non-Covid reasons.

“So yesterday, we realised a couple of young ladies came dressed up as grannies to get vaccinated for the second time,” Dr. Raul Pino, director of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, said during a press briefing on Thursday (February 18). “So I don’t know how they escaped the first time.”

An Orlando official said the department is investigating to see “if there are any holes, any loopholes, in the process that are allowing people to do that”.
